A design team led by students from the Architectural Engineering program finished first in the engineering category at the  sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
The contest challenged participants to showcase a blend of architectural and engineering innovation through the design and construction of high-performance, low-carbon buildings powered by renewable energy.
The project,Ìý,Ìýis a retrofit of a 1,440 ft2, 100-year-old home in partnership with the (KWUNWP) to expand their affordable housing options.
