I’m currently working on my PhD at thewith Neil Gershenfeld, where I am trying to uncover the key technologies that will enable rapid scaling and broad interoperability in open source manufacturing.
In practice, I’m an Engineer / Designer of machines, software (embedded and otherwise), circuits, and networked systems.
So far, my work at the CBA includes , an open source material testing, andto build modular software / embedded networked, from which a third is emerging. I am always slowly approaching the completion of, of course including the humble, and I carry plans for a. A handful of machine-design-experiment carcasses follow me around, including the,,, oneand one.
Previously, I worked aton advanced manufacturing, and with theat Princeton on green building technology. I was originally trained as an Architect at the University of ݮƵ in Canada.

Fallen from the abstract spheres, these gantry designs come to us ~ d i s c o n n e c t e d ~ from any worldly reality, i.e any particular machine. This repository contains a parametric CAD model of the gantry that can be downloaded and configured for length / width / height, and integrated into a larger assembly - adding joinery / mounting patterns / etc.
A bootstrapping machine, aimed towards fabrication of sheet stocks using a routing end-effector, assuming starting equipment is barebones shop tools (listed) and some 3D Printer. The BOM is ideally short and sweet and cheap, and assembly is ideally simple.
