Fourth-year applied math student James Lowman, with help from his classmates, has recreated the 1919 Great Boston Molasses Flood, also known as the Boston Molassacre, in the laboratory. was part of his final project for AMATH 463 (Fluid Mechanics).

The À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ International Genetically Engineered Machine () team was awarded gold medal standing at the recent 2015 iGEM Giant in Boston. The À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ team also received awards for best poster overgrad and best software tool overgrad, as well as being nominated for the best overgrad foundational advance project.

At a recent celebration, Applied Math Faculty Members Xinzhi Liu, Kirsten Morris and Siv Sivaloganthan were honoured for 25 years of service to the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, while and Applied Math Administrator, Maureen Fraser, was honoured for 35 years of service. Congratulations to all!
