Title
Generative AI and Synthetic Data: Driving Health Innovation
Abstract
In this talk, Dr. Helen Chen explores the transformative potential of synthetic data and generative AI in health innovation. With a focus on overcoming barriers such as data accessibility and the gap between AI technology and health domain knowledge, Dr. Chen demonstrates the utility of synthetic data in providing epidemiological insights, facilitating drug repurposing, and conducting in-silico clinical trials. Additionally, the talk addresses critical aspects of data privacy, including strategies for reducing re-identification risks and compliance with Canadian and international privacy regulations. This presentation illustrates how synthetic data serves not only as a privacy-enhancing technology but also as a catalyst for speeding up the development and deployment of AI solutions in health systems.
