As a founder of Tech Capital Partners Inc., Jackson (BA '92) has provided mentorship and financial support to high-tech entrepreneurs in the area who have created hundreds of jobs locally. "Tim has helped guide the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ's evolution into a premier academic institution and a global leader in technology commercialization," says Jacqui Murphy, a Tech Capital colleague who nominated Jackson.
He has also been a tireless À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ fundraiser, a key member of a team that raised more than $350 million for the university's capital campaign. Jackson, who graduated from À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ's chartered accountancy studies program, has accomplished a tremendous amount in a short period of time. In addition to his professional success, Jackson manages to find time to serve on several community boards, including the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Public Library and the Food Bank of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Region.
His support of the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ includes being a member of the Board of Governors, and the Audit Committee, as well as chairing the Finance and Investment Committee. He is also a founding and advisory council member for the Centre for Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (CBET).
"The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ is one of the most innovative post-secondary institutions in the world," says Jackson. "From the liberal intellectual property policy to the emphasis on co-operative education, the university has a history of doing things differently. Being associated with such a forward-thinking institution is a privilege and an honour."
