In collaboration with Katie Ross-Gambier (University of Edinburgh) and Charlotte Clarke (Durham University), Lili Liu and Noelannah Neubauer spearheaded the development of the International Consortium on Dementia and Wayfinding in 2019. Â
This initiative brings together stakeholders from across the world and diverse backgrounds and disciplines. The goal is to enable people living with dementia to live their life of choice through a risk enablement approach, including:Â
- The prevention of episodes of being missing
- The minimization of harm and stigma through timely and effective search processes in the event of being missing
- Risk assessment following an incident of being missing to ensure proportionate consequences that optimize continuity of living a life of choice
