We're offering a virtual Industry-Specific Panel Discussion series to gain more insight and knowledge on mentors' professional journeys within a specific industry. We will discuss challenges faced in careers, career paths, leadership positions, work-life balance and you will also have the opportunity to ask questions!

In this workshop we will cover tips for virtual job fairs, including how to prepare, what to do during the event and how to follow up with employers after the event. We will discuss how to update your LinkedIn profile to be more enticing to prospective employers and how to create your personal brand, from your social media presence to your elevator pitch. There will also be time to answer any questions you have about job fairs, networking, and LinkedIn

Reaching out and connecting with total strangers about career stuff can be totally nerve-wracking and awkward. In this workshop we will abandon traditional ideas of “networking” and talk about connecting to other people as people. We will explore reasons to connect with others, some of the challenges you might face (e.g. anxiety, nerves, imposter syndrome, etc.), and give you tips and connect you with resources for navigating talking to strangers about career stuff in a new way.

This workshop is presented by the Centre for Career Action.

Free snacks and drinks will be provided!
