Who: first-year students and upper year students in engineering + EngSoc reps
What: this is a kick-off mentorship event that will have structured networking activities for mentors and mentees to self-pair and grab some yummy free dinner too

Women in Engineering (WiE) welcomes all students, staff and faculty to ��ݮ��Ƶ Engineering on Friday, September 7^th, 2018. All are welcome!

The BBQ will start at 11 am and will go until around 1 pm. You can pop in whenever you get a bit of time! This is a casual event so people will be coming in and out :)

Please join us for free food, fun activities, plus meet and mingle with your peers and current faculty, graduate and undergraduate students!

Building on the success of last year’s workshop, Shari Graydon will again be facilitating a small, interactive workshop, this time focusing on the theme of “Increasing your Persuasiveness”.

The ability to convince other people – to approve your idea, follow your leadership, implement your plan – has an enormous impact on your success. This interactive workshop offers research-proven approaches, instructive case studies and hands-on practice in applying the tools to your own persuasive challenges.

Of interest to academic women in a wide range of fields, this workshop will equip participants with a range of skills - using a 5-minute strategic planning tool in advance of high stakes communications, identifying effective persuasion principles, and increasing impact by combining emotional and rational appeals.

Join the ‘UW Women in Engineering’ Run for the Cure team!

The Run for the Cure is Canada's largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, education and health promotion initiatives. This year’s event takes place on Sunday, October 4, 2014.

The event is a 1k or 5k run and/or walk. You don’t have to decide your distance or whether you will be walking, running, or a combination of the two until the day of the event. If our team has more than 10 people, we will get custom t-shirts. We will have a shuttle bus taking us to and from the run location and the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ.
