In this workshop, attendees will sign-up for an Orcid iD and populate their Orcid accounts. Existing Orcid users will update their accounts.
Claim your research identity. An Open Researcher and Contributor ID, or Orcid iD for short, 鈥減rovides a persistent digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grand submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that you work is recognized鈥 ().聽ORCID is a global non-profit organization founded in 2011 that provides Orcid iD鈥檚 to researchers.
Orcid iD鈥檚 are the future of scholarly publication and many granting agencies and journal submission processes now allow (or require) researchers to include their iD in the submission process. For example, it is likely that the tri-council awards in Canada will make Orcid iD鈥檚 mandatory in the future.
