KM 101

The WaterLeadership training series kicks off on October 22nd with the first of four skill-building workshops, Knowledge Mobilization 101.

The training series helps participants develop practical skills to communicate research, lead with confidence, and inspire innovation. They also gain tools to make their work more impactful through clear writing, engaging presentations, and strong messaging.

WaterLeadership gives students the tools to turn their research into real-world impact. These workshops are a chance to build the communication, leadership, and innovation skills that will set you apart in any career.鈥 鈥 Elanor Waslander, Knowledge Mobilization Specialist, Water Institute

Training sessions for this year will cover topics designed around three 鈥減illars鈥 of learning:

  • Knowledge mobilization and strategic planning skills: Learn how knowledge mobilization strategies and tools can increase the credibility, salience and legitimacy of your work, thereby accelerating the impact of water research.

  • Research communication: Develop techniques for powerful communication that connect and resonate with targeted academic and non-academic audiences. Boost your career with these highly transferable skills in clear writing, engaging presentations, and key message development.

  • Innovation and leadership: Discover and develop your natural strengths. Learn how to use your talents, technical skills, and knowledge to launch a career where you inspire and create innovative solutions for complex water challenges.

鈥淭hese workshops are about more than theory 鈥 they are hands-on sessions where you practice and strengthen the skills that employers and collaborators value most.鈥 鈥 Elanor Waslander
