We are pleased to announce that the Water Institute will host Elsevier's renowned annual Water Research Conference. Welcoming water colleagues fromÌýaround the world, the conference will focus on the role of water technology innovation in the blue economy.

The 2017ÌýWater Institute RBC distinguished lecturer, Quentin Grafton, will presentÌý±õ²Ô²Ô´Ç±¹²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô,ÌýIncentivesÌýand Infrastructure in the Blue EconomyÌýas part ofÌýÌýElsevier's fourth International Water Research Conference, hosted by the Water Institute.Ìý

As part of the Water InstituteÌýWaterTalks lecture series, with Günter Blöschl, head of the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources ManagementÌýand professor of Hydrology and Water Resources atÌýVienna University of Technology, will be presentingÌý"Emerging outcomes from a cross-disciplinary doctoral programme on water resource systems."

As part of the Water Institute'sÌýWaterTalks lecture series,ÌýDr. Antje Witting from the Department of Political and Administrative Sciences at the University of Konstanz, presents, "Policy learning in the context of urban flood mitigation."

As part of the Faculty of Environment's Seminar Series, professorÌýBernhard GlaeserÌýfrom the Free University of BerlinÌýwill present, "Navigating towards sustainable human-nature relations: Coastal and ocean management revisited."Ìý

The Farvolden Lecture Series, hosted by À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences,Ìýwas initiated in 1996 as an annual celebration in honour of Dr. RobertÌýFarvolden.ÌýThe Lecture Series fosters interaction and communication between the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the alumni of the hydrogeology program and the groundwater community at large.

Water Institute member Simron Singh, associate professor in À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ's School of Environment, Enterprise and Development, and his colleagues, are hosting a public panel on sustaining small islands in the context of globalÌýenvironmental change.
