Join us on June 21, from 5-9 p.m. at the Centre for International Governance Innovation as aspiring water entrepreneurs pitch theirÌýsolutions to problems facing Lake Erie. The five winning teams of the semi-finals will move on to compete in the final competition on September 13, 2017, where there'sÌýÌýavailable, in addition toÌýaccess to local acceleratorsÌýand mentors for winning teams.Ìý

TheÌýsecond International Conference on Amphibious Architecture, Design and Engineering 2017 (ICAADE) will unite academics, practitioners, professionals and policymakers from in the exchange of knowledge on amphibious flood mitigation strategies, inviting collaboration among researchers, business, institutionsÌýand governments around the world. Flood mitigation and climate change adaptation will require the development of new housing types and retrofit strategies in order to maintain community integrity in populated regions where flooding is expected to increase.

We are pleased to announce that the Water Institute will host Elsevier's renowned annual Water Research Conference. Welcoming water colleagues fromÌýaround the world, the conference will focus on the role of water technology innovation in the blue economy.

The 2017ÌýWater Institute RBC distinguished lecturer, Quentin Grafton, will presentÌý±õ²Ô²Ô´Ç±¹²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô,ÌýIncentivesÌýand Infrastructure in the Blue EconomyÌýas part ofÌýÌýElsevier's fourth International Water Research Conference, hosted by the Water Institute.Ìý

This course addresses the development of computational models of watershed hydrology in support of water resources management and scientific investigation. The full model development and application cycle is considered: pre-processing, understanding, and generating input forcing data; system discretization and algorithms for simulating hydrologic processes; parameter estimation; and interpreting model output in the context of often significant system uncertainty.

This will be the first annual general meeting of the Global Water Futures (GWF) program. Plenaries, project reporting, posters, student events, breakout sessions, and other important GWF initiatives will take place during this time.Ìý

The primary purpose of the GWF inaugural Annual Science MeetingÌýis to provide an opportunity for all GWF researchers and affiliated highly-qualified personnel to gather and share their scientific findings and other relevant activities and outcomes with GWF community and users/stakeholders.
