A scholarship, valued at $2,000, will be awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year Three or Four of the Literature program in the Department of English Language and Literature in the Faculty of Arts. Selection is based on academic excellence (minimum 80% cumulative average) combined with extracurricular involvement in the arts and culture sector. Interested students should submit an application by February 1. This fund is made possible by a donation from Joe and Nancy Mattes (BA’89, MEDI ’21) in honour of Nancy’s mother, in celebration of her 96th birthday, and to honour her passion for higher education.

The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
