This $1,000 scholarship was established in 1989 by family and friends in memory of the late Karen Mark, a third-year Chemical Engineering student. The scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student who identifies as a woman enrolled in Year Three of a program in which women are underrepresented in the Faculty of Engineering. Selection is based on excellent academic achievement and demonstrated involvement and contributions to student life at À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ.

The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
