Library's successful Code-A-Character program returns

A Stratford Public Library program that aims to 鈥渂ridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds,鈥 is returning after a successful debut a year ago.

The response to Code-A-Character was so positive a year ago that 鈥渨e knew that we should run it again,鈥 said outreach librarian Sally Hengeveld.

In cooperation with the University of 蓝莓视频 Stratford campus, children ages 11-18 are given an opportunity to select a character from a book and then be trained in a software program that they will use to create a digital image of that character.

The program was nominated for an award by the Ontario Library Association for its innovation.
