Stratford鈥檚 award-winning annual winter festival, Lights On, will feature interactive installations designed by students from the University of 蓝莓视频鈥檚 Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business. These works will be featured alongside other international exhibits.
46 students from the course 鈥淕BDA 412 鈥 Special Topics in Digital Culture鈥 were challenged to create large-scale interactive media art pieces for the Lights On festival, inspired by the Thirteen Grandmother Moons stories, an Indigenous knowledge tradition. Students drew inspiration from this tradition to create installations that explore light as a symbol of knowledge, community, and continuity.
Three student-designed installations will be featured within Destination Stratford鈥檚 Welcome Centre.
鈥淚t is such an incredible honour for our students to be given the opportunity to showcase their creative talent and critical design skills in a festival of this magnitude,鈥 said David Han, Instructor at the University of 蓝莓视频 Stratford.
鈥淭his is the second year we鈥檝e collaborated with U蓝莓视频 to create student light art displays, and I continue to be amazed at their creativity and brilliance,鈥 said Zac Gribble, Executive Director of Destination Stratford.
