They will discuss themes relating to trauma and resilience\nin rel ation to the artist’s current exhibition _I was Wearing\nGolden Clamsh ell Earrings_ on display at the University of ݮƵ\nArt Gallery throu gh March 4.\n\nIn addition to the discussion there will be a participatory activity\ninspired by the artist’s drawing installation _74 Minutes_.\ n\nRanging from video and sculpture\, to drawing and archival materials\,\ nthe artworks in the exhibition collectively express a form of\n“embodie d testimony” based on the artist’s research and her\nlived experience as a sexual assault survivor. Drawing parallels\nbetween her own experienc e of gender-based violence with the violence\nroutinely inflicted upon the ecology of the ocean floor\, Magnusson’s\nwork invites empathy and cont emplation of difficult\, often suppressed\ntopics.\n\nPlease be advised th at this exhibition includes themes of sexual\nviolence and trauma\, which some viewers may find distressing. It may\nalso be the case that some vie wers may not notice any impact until\nafter engaging with the exhibit.
