Biography
Catherine Dong (she/they) is an undergraduate student at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, majoring in mathematics and exploring a breadth of courses in psychology, economics, and social development studies. As a part of her fellowship with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), she delivered a talk on youth engagement in the current political and socioeconomic context at the AMO 2023 Annual General Meeting and Conference in London, Ontario.
During the 2022 À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ municipal election, Catherine managed the campaign of a 22-year-old candidate, securing him a close second place out of four candidates. She previously served as a full-time executive of the À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Undergraduate Student Association, where she supported governance reform and policy-based advocacy, as well as on the board of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Co-operative Residence Inc.
She has a passion for community service and developing inclusive, durable systems, with particular interest in building livable, human-scale urban environments.
Catherine is working toward her BMath at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.
