Brief biography

I have been teaching accounting in higher education since 2001 at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels. I believe in a learner-centered approach to education andÌýbring my work experience into the classroom soÌýstudents gain an understanding of how accounting concepts are used in organizations. Before teaching, I worked in the insurance industry where I was involved in projects such asÌýdesigningÌýan division wide Activity Based Costing modelÌýand a financial and management accounting reporting systemÌýfor a mutual fund dealership.

As SAF'sÌýPhD Student Teaching Mentor, I facilitateÌýa Teaching Competency Workshop for our PhD students and mentor our PhD studentsÌýin their roles as Teaching Assistants and Instructors.ÌýI am also a trained facilitator for CTE's Instructional Skills Workshop.
