
Amar Mahmoud, a doctoral candidate at the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF), has been named the 2025 recipient of the Warren Ober Award for Outstanding Teaching by Graduate Students.ÌýÌý
Mahmoud’s teaching journey began with participating in the SAF PhD Student Teaching Competency Series and continued with leading AFM 101 tutorials, before independently instructing a section of the course. With his student-centered approach, Mahmoud crafted an engaging learning environment through thoughtful preparation, real-world examples and dynamic class discussions.Ìý
His impact has been recognized not only through exceptional Course Perception Survey results, but also by students and colleagues who compliment his ability to make complex concepts accessible and to meaningfully connect with learners across diverse academic backgrounds.Ìý
