Celebrating our 2025 graduates and honourees at Spring Convocation

The School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) is proud to celebrate the Class of 2025 during this week’s Spring Convocation. This occasion marks an important milestone in the academic and professional journeys of our graduates, and SAF extends its heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to each of them. Throughout their time at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, these students have demonstrated dedication, resilience and a commitment to excellence that has enriched the SAF community. Their contributions—both in and beyond the classroom—have left a lasting impression, and the School is grateful for the time, talent and energy they have shared.

In addition to recognizing the graduating class, SAF is pleased to honour three outstanding individuals for their achievements and service. Matthew Jones (BAFM ’25) has been named Valedictorian in recognition of his exceptional academic performance and leadership across the SAF community. Dr. Ranjini Jha, PhD, CFA, will be awarded the title of Distinguished Professor Emeritus, acknowledging her foundational role in advancing financial education and student success at SAF. Finally, Tim Jackson (BA ’92) will receive an Honorary Doctorate for his distinguished contributions to entrepreneurship, accounting and community leadership.

Matthew Jones (BAFM ’25) has been selected as the Valedictorian for the School of Accounting and Finance’s Spring 2025 convocation ceremony.

Known for his leadership, mentorship and community involvement, Jones has exemplified the values of SAF throughout his undergraduate studies. He graduates in the top 10% of his class with a specialization in financial markets and will begin a full-time role in investment banking at BMO Capital Markets following convocation.

Ranjini Jha, a professor from the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF), will be recognized with the title of Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the Spring 2025 convocation ceremony.

Even after her retirement in 2024, Jha’s generosity and dedication to SAF finance students continues through the , which supports high-achieving students pursuing careers in finance.

Tim Jackson (BA'92), a sessional lecturer at Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business, will be awarded an honorary doctorate at this year's convocation ceremony.

We congratulate Tim on this well-deserved recognition as he receives the University's highest honour for his exceptional contributions within the University, À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Region and beyond.
