The À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ Environment and Business Society held its first environmental discussion panel on Canada’s sustainable development outlook this week. The event, graciously co-hosted by SEED, was >meant to mobilize students to actively pursue sustainable development. It was a wonderful success with over 140 students and community members attending at St. Paul's College.

is the largest brackish water lagoon in Asia situated along the east coast of India in the state of Odisha. More than 400,000 fishers, belonging to specific fisher castes, customarily depend upon the lagoon for their livelihood. As a Sustainability Management Program Master’s student at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ and as a part of my Master’s research thesis, I got the opportunity to do a Village level study in Chilika Lagoon.

Three successful sustainability leaders from the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ have been named to the list. Complied each year, the list acknowledges a collection of young entrepreneurs, activists, corporate professionals and students eager to make our world a better place.

With the impending retirement of current Environment Teaching Fellow Mary Louise McAllister, Environment is proud to announce that Simron Singh, a professor in the School of Environment Enterprise and Development with a cross-appointment in Environment and Resource Studies, will be taking over that role.

The position of Teaching Fellow was created by the Provost to promote, enhance and support teaching excellence and experiential learning in each of the Faculties at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ.
