The School of Environment, Enterprise and Development would like to extend a very warm SEED welcome to two new faculty members - Dr.Cameron McCordic and Dr. Jeffrey Wilson. Director, Bruce Frayne speaks on behalf of SEED when expressing the benefit of having both Dr. Cameron McCordic and Dr. Jeffrey Wilson in our midst.
Both individuals are emerging leaders in their field and will add considerable depth to our multidisciplinary faculty
SEED welcomes both Cameron and Jeffrey to the team and hopes to provide them with the support they need to further advance their careers and research.
Dr. Cameron McCordic
Dr. Cameron McCordic (B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D), a University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ alumni and postdoctoral fellow, who before coming to SEED collaboratively managed several international research projects that investigated sustainable development issues in cities across North America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia.
Currently, as an Assistant Professor, Cameron is co-investigating a SSHRC-funded research project examining the social-ecological systems underpinning sustainable urban development in Canada. In line with this work, Cameron is collaborating with SDSN Canada to measure municipal progress in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Cameron is also co-investigating a SSHRC-funded study of policy pathways toward sustainable food security in Jamaica. He is a co-investigator of multiple projects, including The SDSN Canada SDG Cities Index.
Dr. Jeffrey Wilson
Dr. Jeffrey Wilson (B.Es, M.A, PhD) is an ecological economist and leader in low carbon research who has worked at the interface of economic, environmental and wellbeing research and policy for over 17 years.
Jeff specializes in economic and sustainability research, natural capital accounting, wellbeing research, indicator development, ecosystem goods and services valuation, and strategy and policy development for sustainability transitions. In addition to being an assistant professor in the School of Environment, Enterprise Development, University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, Canada, Jeff is also the director of , a thinktank that brings together academics and practitioners to advance low carbon pathways. He has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, grey literature, and several book chapters.
