 ligious symbols were banned in\npublic high schools\, and in 2011\, coveri
 ng the face in public spaces\nwas prohibited. These measures were largely 
 a response to\, and have\ndisproportionately affected\, Muslim communities
  – especially Muslim\nwomen. They may also be jeopardizing pluralism\, d
