In 1980\, R.J. Valenza introduced the \" elasticity” of an\nintegral domain as a means of measuring how far away the domain is\nfrom possessing unique factorization. I will survey what is known\nabout elasticity of rings of number theoretic interest. Particular \nattention will be paid to recent work of the speaker on elasticity of\no rders in quadratic fields. Much of this is joint with Steve Fan (UGA)\nand Enrique Trevino (Lake Forest).\n\nMC 5417\n DTSTAMP:20250711T070719Z END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
