Research interestsÌý
My research approach for more than 20 years has been community-based, working with Indigenous families and communities on the revitalization of food systems within southern and urban settings across Canada and internationally. Globally, I have contributed to nutrition policy, knowledge translation platforms, and United Nations (UN) reports with the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization, along with an Indigenous health chapter and series of case studies as part of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. My current program of research brings together these experiences as an established scholar in this field who does not identify as Indigenous, to focus on exploring the complexity of urban Indigenous food environments and developing intergenerational spaces and places for land-based learning around food.
