Yang (Rena) Yang has recently graduated from the PhD program in the School of Public Health Sciences, co-supervised by professors Helen Chen and Zahid Butt. Rena’s research interests include AI and machine learning in public health, statistical modelling on population-level health data, data-driven evidence-based public health decision making and decision support, health technology assessment and economic evaluation on mobile health (mHealth) interventions. She has been working on infoveillance, social media and COVID-19 projects. In addition to public health, Rena has a background in computer engineering and business. Before joining the research team at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ, Rena worked in IT, eCommerce, electrical generation, transmission and distribution, and medical devices industries across China, Singapore, and Canada. She also has a background in sales and marketing, customer service, business operations, and human resources.
