Graduate students from across Canada are invited to submit a proposal to present their research at the annual conference held by the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ’s Political Science Graduate Student Association. This year’s conference will be centred on the theme “Shifting Power in the 21^st ���Գٳܰ���”. The conference will be held on March 6, 2018 from 9AM to 4PM at the Balsillie School of International Affairs (room 1-42) in Uptown ��ݮ��Ƶ, ON.

Keynote speaker: Pierre Lizée | Brock University

In light of recent events such as the Trump Presidency and Brexit, this one day conference will focus on the shift towards global (dis)integration. The conference will include discussions of the relationships between trade and economics, security, and public policy as they contribute to global (dis)integration.

With a new presidential administration south of the border, members of the University community are being invited you to attend a panel discussion on the social, cultural and economic consequences of American politics and its implications for Canada.

is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law at Western University. Her research and teaching span many areas of public law, with a particular focus on constitutional and administrative law.

She will be visiting U��ݮ��Ƶ as part of the Department Speaker Series.

is an Assistant Professor in Quantitative Comparative Politics at Durham University. Her research covers topics in History & Politics, Women in Politics & Methodology.

Megan Gaucher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Law and Legal Studies at Carleton University. Broadly speaking, her research interests focus on the intersections between citizenship, family, gender, sexuality, and race in Canadian immigration and refugee law and policy.

During her visit to U��ݮ��Ƶ she will discus her new book Keeping it in the Family: The (Re-) Production of Conjugal Citizens Through Canadian Immigration Policy and Practice.

Do alliances curb efforts by states to develop nuclear weapons? looks at what makes alliances sufficiently credible to prevent nuclear proliferation; how alliances can break down and so encourage nuclear proliferation; and whether security guarantors like the United States can use alliance ties to end the nuclear efforts of their allies.
