DESCRIPTION:Summary \n\nThe concept of intelligence has been difficult to g
 et one’s arms\naround. Surprisingly\, the same can be said also of the n
 otion of\nreasoning. This talk aims at shedding some light on certain aspe
 cts of\nhuman reasoning - reasoning for practical life. This will put us i
 n a\nbetter position to make some comparisons between (some aspects of)\nh
 uman reasoning\, and what Large Language Models (LLMs) are doing -\nthey l
 ook to be doing quite different things.  Reasoning\, at least as\nhumans 
 do it\, involves architecture that Computer Science has\napparently abando
 ned for the current generation of AI models. We will\npose questions about
  whether this current generation is capable of\nmoving past their present
  obstacles.\n
