 ion to\nunderstanding local conflict dynamics and visions of peace. Street
  art\ntells narratives about everyday concerns and opinions\, where multip
 le\nand often contradicting narratives by different artists and\ncommuniti
 es can be publicly viewed. This holds value in situations of\nconflict and
  censorship\, as art can talk about issues that have no\nspace in the main
 stream political discourse.\n\nStreet art can have a range of different fu
 nctions – some are\ndisplayed in this collection. These functions can bo
 th contribute to\npeace and social change\, but also to foster or underlin
 e conflict and\ndivision. Functions that can be seen in this exhibit inclu
 de\nresistance\, political communication\, identity expression\,\nmemorial
 isation of events or people\, and inspiration. \n\nThis exhibition has bee
 n curated by the International Consortium for\nConflict Graffiti (ICCG) wi
