This series are for local optometrists to gain insightful information about the latest technology, research, and innovation at the School of Optometry & Vision Science and beyond, to help support your clinical practice.

Chelsea Bray, BHSc, OD

Dr. Bray graduated in 2014 from the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ School of Optometry, where she then completed a post-graduate residency program in Cornea and Contact Lenses under the supervision of Dr. Gina Sorbara. Prior to that, she received her Honours Bachelor of Health Science degree from the University of Ottawa in 2010. Dr. Bray worked in private practice in both Stratford and then Guelph for 7 years before joining the faculty at the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ School of Optometry as a Clinical Lecturer in 2022. She is currently the head of the Contact Lens and Myopia Control Clinic at the school as well as the Cornea and Contact Lens Residency Supervisor.

Today, 1 in 5 Canadians are at risk of losing their sight due to eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. The need for comprehensive eye and vision care - through surgery to rehabilitation specialty care - has never been greater.

This webinar will bring together our low vision experts – professionals and patients - to share how the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ's Centre for Sight Enhancement (CSE) improves quality of life and maximizes independence for people living with vision loss.

Please join us to discuss how the creation of the ��ݮ��Ƶ Eye Institute can give patients the right care, at the right time, in the right place to help address the growing vision care crisis.

Speakers will include Dr. Tammy Labreche (Director, CSE) and low vision patient advocates sharing their own experience living with low vision (Mr. Rick Gehl, Mrs. Ida Fisher and Mr. Philip Lowden).
