Nanotechnology Engineering student teams won at the Fall 2015 with projects based on a company developing display technology that increases the battery life and daylight visibility of mobile devices to another creating apparel that prevents sweat stains.

The first ever À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Undergraduate Nanotechnology Conference (WUNC) was held at the Mike & Ophelia Lazaridis Quantum-Nano Centre on Saturday, November 7, 2015.  The conference featured presentations and posters by researchers, graduate students, and industry members, at the cutting edge of nanotechnology.  This conference was fully organized by undergraduate students from the Nanotechnology Engineering program who took the initiative and wanted to seize the opportunity to learn more about the scope of nanotechnology in academia as well as industry.

Three Nanotechnology Engineering student teams won at the Winter 2015  with projects based on time-release capsules, UV responsive marker ink and a hand-held device that measures vitamin levels.

At the 2015 Nanotechnology Engineering Capstone Design Symposium on Friday, March 20, 2015, one team walked away with the most entrepreneurial team award sponsored by . Team Spill-O-Pill was selected as the team most likely to take their design to the next level.

Two Nanotechnology Engineering teams, Vitameter and Suncayr, took home top prizes of $10,000 each at the 2015 Norman Esch Entrepreneurship Awards held on Thursday, April 2, 2015.   The Norman Esch capstone award is open to student teams from all departments within the Faculty of Engineering and during the event, 15 teams had 90 seconds to pitch their businesses to a panel of judges who included engineering professors and faculty members of the Conrad Entrepreneurship, Business and Technology Centre.

On Friday March 20, 2015, the Nanotechnology Engineering Fourth Year Capstone Design Symposium was held.  This event showcases design projects from the Nanotechnology Engineering program senior class which they work on over the course of three terms.  Twenty-four projects in the theme areas of Nano Electronics & Photonics, NEMs & Nano Fluidics, Nanobiotechnology & Biomedical Systems and Nano Functional Materials were presented by the students throughout the day.

The poster presentation competition rewarded three teams:

A marker that indicates when sunscreen is to be reapplied and innovative propulsion technology for microsatellites captured first and second place in the innovative design category at the 2015 .

À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Engineering took several of the top honours at this year's held February 6-8 at Ryerson University.
