Founded while its members were still students, the Toronto Percussion Ensemble has been amazing and delighting audiences since 1980 with its unique combination of collective virtuosity and relaxed stage manner. A Toronto Percussion Ensemble concert brings together music of the distant past with music of the here and now, global music with local traditions, and the familiar with the wonderfully exotic.

Noon Hour Concert on a Friday: Attacca Quartet

This is the final of the "68" Haydn String Quartet concerts. The title refers to the 68 string quartets that Haydn wrote over the course of his life. Each exhibits its own unique characteristics and compositional techniques. The members of the Attacca QuartetÌýhaveÌýbeen so captivated by these works that it feltÌýonly natural to feature a number of Haydn string quartets as an entire program, as opposed to the usual tradition of hearing only one as a concert opener.
