On July 15th the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ presents a special program of exploration, history, and collaboration through music. “Islands” brings story and song from some of the world’s most fascinating island communities. Hawaii, New Zealand, Cuba, and Jamaica are real islands with unique and interrelated musical cultures featuring popular and beloved music. We will also be weaving a Canadian island song into our concert. The concert will also feature the “premiere” of the UW Choir’s first music video produced this summer by the choir members themselves. Join us for “Islands” featuring Palai Paki’s  “Opae E,” the famous work of Hawaiian icon, Brother  IZ “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/ Wonderful World,” Bob Marley’s “One Love,” Raichard Pawanaki’s “Kawaita kia Maria” ( traditional Maori) and the Cuban choral rhumba “El Guayabosa,” (The Liar).
