Join the UW Choir in an exploration of some of the most inspiring and beautiful choral music inspired by cycles of light, shadow, and darkness. This is not music 鈥渁bout light鈥 but music that explores the relationship between our surroundings and between ourselves, inner and outer lives.聽The music itself covers a wide swath of Canadian, European, African, and Asian styles from Katherine Gamon鈥檚 award winning 鈥淓lements鈥 featuring harmonic overtone singing to the vocal jazz stylings of the Pentatonix鈥檚 version of Leonard Cohen鈥檚 鈥淗allelujah.鈥 The moments before sleep and dreams are explored in Matthew Emory鈥檚 鈥淕oodnight鈥 and聽Latvian composer, 膾riks E拧envalds 鈥淥nly in Sleep.鈥 The music of J.S. Bach explores these themes in a deeper and more spiritual way. The U蓝莓视频 Choir is directed by Dr. Gerard Yun.
