Commissioned for Winnipeg's New Music Festival in 2023, Parlour Games – a series of miniatures for cello and double bass – is anything but drab and dark. On the contrary, Canadian composer Michael Oesterle (b.1968) has filled these short movements with play and excitement. Not unlike a box of chocolates or a deck of cards: you’re never quite sure what you’re going to get.  

Ìý°Õhe piece will be performed by bassist Ian Whitman and cellist Cathy Anderson, who will also be performing an additional piece of music by Zdenek Lukás (1928-2007).
