
°Õ³ó±ðÌýChamber ChoirÌýmeets every Tuesday and Thursday in the CGUC Chapel from 4:00 to 5:30 pm beginning the first week of classes (fall and winter terms only), and is led by directorÌýMark Vuorinen. This small ensemble of about 25 voices performs several times per term. Acceptance is by audition and at the discretion of the director.Ìý
1. Participant form
To participate in ChamberÌýChoir you need to fill out theÌýParticipant Form every term. There is no LEARNÌýfor Ensembles, so this is a crucial step that enables us to reach you.Ìý This includes Returning Choristers. For further questions please emailÌýAngelica Allen,ÌýEnsemble Coordinator.
2.Ìý´¡³Ü»å¾±³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô
In Fall 2025, all singers will need to audition. Auditions will take place on Thursday September 4 and Tuesday, September 9Ìý in the Conrad Grebel Chapel from 3:00pm to 5:30pm. You will receive the audition link once you fill out the participant form. To prepare for the audition, please learn one of the following folk songs:Ìý

3.Ìý°ä°ù±ð»å¾±³Ù
Register onÌýÌýif you are taking the Ensemble for credit.ÌýÌýPlease note that MUSIC 416 and 417 have been added to the Ensemble Course list.Ìý Also noteÌýit is your responsibility to drop the course on Quest if you do not pass the audition or choose not to participate.Ìý An Ensemble credit is 0.25 units AND you can add this on a normal course load or ask your advisor for permission to override your course limit. There is a $30 fee for students who are not taking the Ensemble for credit, while non-students will be charged a $60 fee.

- In person rehearsal Tuesday and Thursdays fromÌý4:00-5:30 pmÌýmost weeks. Thursday, September 11, 2025 will be the first session.Ìý

- Next term: Participation in an end of term concert on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 7:30pm at St. Matthew's Church in Kitchener.

New Award:ÌýThe Helen Martens Choral Music AwardÌý
This award is for students enrolled in one of the Music department choirs (e.g. Chamber, University or Chapel choirs. Choristers who exhibit a passion for choral music and demonstrate vocal excellence in choral singing will be considered. Note: Choir members who show leadership skills in rehearsals and concert preparation are preferred.ÌýÌý
