The campus-wide Zoom license is now available for employees and students; pro/educational licenses are available for employees and graduate students, and basic licenses are available for undergraduate students.Ìý

  • IST is continuing to migrate existing University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Zoom users to the campus-wide license.Ìý
  • The integration of Zoom with LEARN is currently underway and is expected to be complete during the first week of August.

If you do not have an existing Zoom account:ÌýFaculty, staff, and students can create an account by going toÌý,Ìýclicking Sign In, and logging in with theirÌýÌý³¦°ù±ð»å±ð²Ô³Ù¾±²¹±ô²õ.Ìý

If you have an existing Zoom account:Ìý Migrate your account to the campus-wide license using the steps below.Ìý

  1. If your Zoom account username is notÌý,Ìý.
  2. Go toÌýÌýand click 'Sign In'. Enter yourÌýÌýlogin credentials. The first time you login, you will be asked to migrate your existing account. Follow the prompts to migrate your account.Ìý
  3. If you have a paid Zoom account, Zoom will update your account balance andÌýyou can request a refundÌýby calling Zoom Support:Ìý+1.888.799.9666ÌýextÌý2.

Notes:Ìý

  • The ability to log in with Zoom credentials will be disabled at a later date and users will be required to log in with their University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ credentials.Ìý
  • To optimize the reimbursement of your remaining account balance,Ìýit is recommended that you create orÌýÌýas soon as possible.ÌýIf you have an upcoming Zoom event, you can create or migrate your Zoom account at your convenience after the event date.

Running Zoom for the first time

  1. Open zoom and select SSO

  2. The zoom app will minimized to the taskbar and open the browser, click on the zoom in the taskbar

  3. This will open the browser again checked mark Always allow uwaterloo.zoom.us and click on Open zoom meetings

  4. If you are login to the computer with your university of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ credentials it will automatically log you on if not this will take you to the University login to use your credentials and the 2FA

  5. Check marked the always open with the zoom app and then click on Launch zoom meetings

  6. And this will take you to the app now you can setup the meeting or join a meeting.
