Accessing files.student.math

Requirements

  • users must have a student account
  • users must have valid Nexus credentials
  • must be running if the user is attempting to connect from an off campus location

Procedure

Connecting from a Windows Computer

  • click Start and then My Computer
  • click Map network drive on the top menu
  • enter °À°À´Ú¾±±ô±ð²õ.²õ³Ù³Ü»å±ð²Ô³Ù.³¾²¹³Ù³ó.³Ü·É²¹³Ù±ð°ù±ô´Ç´Ç.³¦²¹°À±«°Â³Ü²õ±ð°ù¾±»åÌýin the Folder field, tick Reconnect at logon and Connect using different credentials. Then click Finish.
  • enter nexus\UWuserid in the User name field and your Nexus password in the Password field
  • click Ok. The drive should be mapped now.

Connecting from a Mac Computer

  • open Finder (or have the application active) and hit command (cmd) + K (or click Go > Connect to server from the top menu bar)
  • enter smb://files.student.math.uwaterloo.ca/UWuserid in the Server Address field and click Browse
  • tick the Registered user box, enter nexus\UWuserid in the User name field and your Nexus password in the Password field
  • click Connect. Your file space should open up.

Connecting from Linux - Ubuntu

  • click: "Activities" from the top left
  • type: "Files" and press enter
  • click: "+ Other Locations" from the left side of the window
  • connect to server: smb://files.student.math.uwaterloo.ca/UWuserid
    • connect as: Registered User
    • username: UWuserid
    • password: your ±··¡³Ý±«³§Ìý±è²¹²õ²õ·É´Ç°ù»åÌý
  • right click the new network drive found on the left side of the window and "Add Bookmark"

Connecting from windows.student.math

  • click Start > My Computer. Your file space should be mapped here as your N drive.

Connecting from linux.student.math

  • your file space corresponds to your home directory on linux.student.math
