Congratulations to Sheila McConnell for receiving this year鈥檚 Arts Service Award! This award recognizes staff, faculty, and students for an 鈥渆xceptional level of commitment鈥 and an 鈥渋mpact that goes substantially beyond the usual standard of excellent client services鈥.
鈥媁ith over 100 alumni and current students in attendance, the MPS Fall Mixer was an excellent opportunity for current students to engage with others in the MPS community and learn more about what is in store for them after their academic terms. The annual event took聽place at the University of Toronto鈥檚 Hart House, where students and alumni networked and enjoyed a fun evening among friends, both new and old. 聽
John Milloy 鈥 former Ontario cabinet minister and member of provincial parliament for Kitchener Centre 鈥 has accepted a position as lecturer for the聽Master of Public Service听(惭笔厂)听辫谤辞驳谤补尘.
The Master of Public Service program extends a warm welcome to Anindya Sen, who now officially joins MPS as Director. Professor Sen鈥檚 directorship of the program officially began on July 1, 2015. He is no stranger to MPS though, having been with the program since its very inception.
MPS Alumnus Ian Chesney is this year鈥檚 recipient of the Master of Public Service Excellence Award for having the highest overall average in his graduating class.
The news was officially announced at this year鈥檚 MPS Pre-Convocation Reception for the graduating Class of 2015.
On Friday, May 29th, the MPS community gathered in Toronto for the program鈥檚 Spring Mixer event at the Bier Markt. Students and alumni, spanning five different cohorts, had the opportunity to reconnect over drinks and delicious food.
The evening was also a farewell celebration for Daniel Henstra who is wrapping up his final term as Program Director, after five years with MPS. His dedication, hard work, and leadership was recognized throughout the evening and more formally in speeches from MPS Program Officer, Sheila McConnell, and incoming MPS Director, Anindya Sen. 聽

Amad Abdullah has embarked on a new adventure since graduating from the MPS program in 2014. When completing his co-op work term at the Ministry of Education in Toronto, he was inspired by one of the largest start-up hubs next door. He also noticed the large impact that support and fitness advice from colleagues played on his boss鈥 motivation to work out and shed pounds.
