Fourth year management engineering students Stefanno Da Silva, Shivam Sharma, Tara Tsang, and Julie Yu placed third at the 2018 in the Innovative Design category. This year OEC was held at the University of Ottawa from January 26 - 28. Their project is to develop a group trip planning application and is supervised by Professor Stan Dimitrov.

Cynthia Waltho, a PhD candidate in Management Sciences, was recently featured in a highlighting what it's like to be a graduate student at the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ.

Management Sciences professor was recently awarded the Charles ReVelle Rising Star award at the 2017 INFORMS annual meeting in Houston, Texas.

The prestigious Rising Star award is awarded every two years to a person "who has made significant contribution to location analysis research and displays the potential to continue to do so."  Professor Alumur Alev was recognized for her research excellence in hub network design, reverse logistics, and supply chain network design.

A recent study by Prof. Bissan Ghaddar found that  encouraging carpoolers to ride with people they like could potentially decrease car use by 60 percent.

Forty-nine Management Engineers were conferred their degrees at last Saturday’s convocation. Two students from the 2017 Management Engineering graduating class were also honoured with two of the faculty’s most prestigious awards for undergraduate students.

Anne Dawson was awarded the Alumni Gold Medal, which is given to one graduating student from each faculty. In the case of Engineering, this award is based on both outstanding academic performance and contributions to the faculty.

Research on help-seeking and help-giving conducted by Management Sciences alum Mahdi Roghanizad during his PhD studies was recently featured in the .

In a recent study, a team of researchers led by Management Sciences professor Lukasz Golab found that the implementation of smart metres in Ontario has resulted in only a small decrease in energy usage during on-peak and mid-peak hours. The findings were recently published in the Energy Policy journal.

A report released in March 2016 by Statistics Canada suggests "...Management Sciences and Quantitative Methods graduates were the top earners among male and female bachelor's degree holders in 2010."

The Economic Insights report goes on to put Management graduate degrees in the top five earners by field of study.
