The graduating class of Knowledge Integration students will be presenting "flash talks" about their senior research projects, followed by individual discussions at their poster displays. Forming the capstone of their four-year undergraduate career, these projects represent an exciting synthesis of the diverse disciplines the students have explored through this one-of-a-kind interdisciplinary program. The students' posters will be on display from March 17-22 at the St. Jerome's gymnasium alongside the third-year design projects (KIX).

Since its inception in 2008, Knowledge Integration has provided a stimulating academic home for undergraduate students looking to maintain a broad set of interests while gaining rigorous interdisciplinary training. Acknowledging that the complex problems facing the world today don't fit neatly into traditional academic disciplines, KI equips students to be designers, problem-solvers, and skillful collaborators.

Join us from March 17-22 to discover the two capstone projects completed by the Knowledge Integration upper year students!

Knowledge Integration eXhibition (KIX), by the 3rd year KI students

KIX (n): Knowledge Integration eXhibition; a convergence of disciplines, teaching methods and creative minds in an object-centric exhibition on topics related to the Global Futures.

The students in the Knowledge Integration program invite you to experience the culmination of our third-year design project: The Museum Course. Working in teams to produce these exhibits has been a rewarding and unique experience. Topics this year are focusing on:

Illuminating Perceptions: Safety in Cities at Night
The Hobby House: Exploring the benefits of hobbies

In building our exhibits, we have moved beyond the traditional projects and assignments typical of an undergraduate experience. The creation process allowed us to be self-directed and enabled us to incorporate skills from many different disciplines. The result is an exhibition that showcases our knowledge of museums and their design methods, as well as our teamwork and dedication to something that is a little out-of-the-box.

Senior Honours Project (SHP) Posters, by the 4th year KI students

Fourth-year KI students research and develop a thesis, design or creative project under the mentorship of a faculty member with relevant expertise. The project culminates in a written deliverable, a public poster and a flash talk presentation. Discover the wide variety of topics explored during this eight month independent project, including:

AI in a changing climate
Food security
Social media addiction
Environment design for early childhood development
A story of discovery through scientific instruments
Built environment factors contributing to drug overdose
Metacognitive skill development, and more!
