Accessing external research infrastructure resources
Ìý

In addition to existing support for large-scale research projects, platform is capable of sustaining robust research for mid- and smaller-scale data-intensive projects, in any discipline. Each year, theÌýÌýallocates an average of 80% of its compute and storage resources through theÌýÌý(RAC) and leaves roughly 20% for non-competitive requests. Users can access these non-competitive resources via ourÌý.

Resource Allocation Competition (RAC)

The Resource Allocation Competition (RAC) enables faculty members and their research groups to access compute, storage and cloud resources beyond what can be obtained via theÌýÌý(RAS).Ìý

Rapid Access Service (RAS)

The Rapid Access Service (RAS) allowsÌýPrincipal Investigators (PIs) to request aÌýmodest amount of storage and cloud resourcesÌýwithout having to apply to theÌýÌý(RAC). Many research groups can meet their needs by using the Rapid Access Service only.
