A delegation of ICT companies, led by the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, visited the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ on Thursday, November 14. Talks focused on industry-university research collaborations, in particular,  identifying challenges industries face, that can be solved or identified by university engagement, in cost effective and efficient ways.  Participants from À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ included representatives from À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ International, À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ Institute for Nanotechnology, the Faculty of Engineering, Global Entrepreneurship and Disruptive Innovation (GEDI) and the Office of Research.

A representative from the National University of Singapore met with À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ International and the Student Success Office to discuss supporting existing collaborations on student exchanges between both institutions. À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ remains committed to educating students to succeed in a global economy.

Associate Provost, Institutional Data, Analysis, and Planning Allan Starr, and his team welcomed representatives from Japan's University of Tsukuba, to explore future collaborations on experience-rich education, co-op programmes and supporting student start-ups.

Supporting existing and potential research collaborations and co-op opportunities between the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ, and universities and industries in China were among the topics discussed, as À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ International met delegates from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto on Thursday November 7.

University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ President Feridun Hamdullahpur, recently met with a delegation from the University of Essex, led by Vice-Chancellor and President Anthony Forster. Discussions focused on addressing global challenges for the benefit of individuals and communities, by bringing the brightest minds together to create viable solutions for the future. Advancing research projects and expanding on joint programming related to graduate studies were top of mind, as both presidents discussed the use of theme-based partnerships, as an ideal vehicle for potential collaborations.

June was a busy month for À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ International, as we hosted a number of delegations from around the world.  Our visitors came to us from, among other locations, Brazil, China, France, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Switzerland.  We were delighted to receive them, to share with them some of the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ’s experiences and activities in research, learning, and service, and to hear from them about their achievements and priorities.  A photo from the visit of University of Bordeaux President Manuel Tunon de Lara and his team – from June 10^th – appears below.

The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ welcomed delegates from Taiwan on Thursday, May 2, 2019. The visit highlighted potential future collaboration, entrepreneurship as well as inbound and outbound opportunities for graduate students.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019 we welcomed delegates from Brunel University London to The University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ to discuss present and future collaborations between our institutions.

The HBO-I Foundation is an association of IT educators from a number of post-secondary institutions in the Netherlands. Twenty-five members of the foundation visited the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 to learn about IT education and career development so as to explore potential improvements to their pedagogy and infrastructure for IT education in the Netherlands. While on campus several people from various campus units and departments shared insight with the group: Co-op Education, WatPD, CEL, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Math and Engineering.

À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ International was proud to celebrate International Women's Day this year but hosting a table at the University's annual "International Women's Day Dinner 2019" at Federation Hall. We were happy to share the table with several of our campus partners; women leaders, stewards, and trailblazers of female international experience at the University.
