Strategic plan consultation - internationalization issue paper

This consultation session is open to all members of the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ. The strategic plan consultations will gather input and feedback on what we need to achieve by 2025 and what success looks like.

Join a University of Guelph / CAIDP webinar to present and discuss findings of recent research about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Canadian humanitarian and development organisations. Conducted by scholars at the Guelph Institute of Development Studies at the University of Guelph, the research surveyed 154 Canadian organisations about the challenges and impacts of the pandemic on their operations as well as collected information about these organisations’ response strategies.

University of Strathclyde is hosting a webinar series led by Strathclyde and its global partner Universities on how Universities can contribute to the acceleration of progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

Drawing upon experiences from the University of À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ – one of Canada’s leading higher education institutions – speakers will discuss the roles that partnerships play in advancing the SDGs.

Integrating sustainable development into the university's operations requires systematic and long-term work with leadership and commitment from employees. An important issue is how the faculty and the administration can work together to strengthen the integration of sustainable development into the organization and the mission.

This webinar will examine the role and responsibility business schools have in delivering meaningful social impact in meeting the SDGs. With a focus on social justice and inclusion, Armand Bam will explore through presentation and interviews examples of successful community partnerships and student engagements at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

This webinar aims to showcase some ways in which Peking University is working towards the SDGs, and the importance of interdisciplinarity. Prof Jie Song will Chair, focusing on topics such as aligning climate change mitigation and clean air policies to maximise health co-benefits; and decarbonising energy conversion by using CO2.

Whether we like it or not, whether we realize it or not, applications of Artificial Intelligence have quickly become a ubiquitous part of everyday life. The Google Maps we all rely on, your daily newsfeed, and the conversations you have with Alexa or Siri are all driven by AI. Some worry that over-smart AI-driven computers will one day control us, or that AI-driven social media apps threaten personal welfare, science-based truth and democracy.  Other observers maintain that AI will free people from mundane, repetitive tasks and rapidly facilitate rapid socioeconomic development.
