Date: 2025 June 16th - 18th, Barcelona

The summit will feature industry leaders, academic experts and policy makers from all around the globe. Attendees will have opportunities to network during coffee and lunch breaks, as well as participate in poster sessions.

This will be the first Global Summit of the Network 4 Sustainable Nanotechnology to take place in Europe, and as such it is a great opportunity to gather current and (future) interested stakeholders.

This year, WIN will proudly host the Canadian Light Source (CLS) Annual Users' Meeting (AUM) at the University of ��ݮ��Ƶ on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. This is the first time the AUM will be held outside of Saskatoon, providing an excellent opportunity for the local scientific community here in Ontario to engage with this important national facility.

Why should you attend the CLS Annual Users' Meeting?

The CLS Annual Users Meeting (AUM) is a premier event that brings together researchers from different disciplines and regions who use or are interested in using synchrotron radiation. The AUM is a platform to:

Learn about the latest developments and opportunities at the CLS and other synchrotron facilities around the world
Network with fellow researchers, CLS staff, and representatives from funding agencies and industry partners
Showcase your research and get feedback from a broad, multi-disciplinary audience

How can you participate in the AUM?

The AUM will have a virtual component extending from October 24-25, but the main in-person meeting at ��ݮ��Ƶ will be on October 22.

The AUM is open to all those interested in performing research at synchrotron facilities. Whether you are a current user of the CLS, a user of another synchrotron around the world, or are curious about how you can use a synchrotron for your research in the future, you are welcome to attend some or all of the meetings. Students and post-docs are especially encouraged to attend and present their work at the poster session.

Registration is required for this event.

The AUM is a rare chance to connect with the synchrotron community and learn how you can benefit from this cutting-edge facility. Don't miss this exceptional opportunity!

About the workshop

World Fuel Cell Conference (WFCC) is established under the auspice of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE) as an umbrella organization to lead and coordinate the information dissemination related to hydrogen and fuel cell R&D activities, development, advancement and education. The conference is organized by IAHE Fuel Cell Division, hosted by the ��ݮ��Ƶ Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) and the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (CHFCA).

The WFCC is a multidisciplinary conference on the latest development and advancement of hydrogen and fuel cells, and provides a forum for the exchange of the latest scientific and technical information, for the dissemination of high-quality research results, and for the debate and shaping of future directions and priorities in hydrogen fuel cell science, technology, engineering, application and commercialization. This conference is targeting technical issues and interconnections between fuel cells and hydrogen.

The conference features speakers from both academia and industry, networking opportunities and a virtual 3MT contest.

On the 19-20th November, 2020, the ��ݮ��Ƶ Institute for Nanotechnology (WIN) will host the “International Workshop on Nanotechnology for a Sustainable Future”. This virtual workshop will bring together world leaders in nanotechnology to address current global issues, to meet United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG) in nanotechnology & society, policy and science diplomacy, industry & innovation, energy & environment, devices for healthcare & communications, and resource management and the circular economy.

Researchers and governmental officials from four continents will present at this workshop including representatives from Japan’s Science & Technology Agency (JST), The University of Sydney Nano Institute (Sydney Nano) in Australia, and Nanotechnology research hubs in the Netherlands, and WIN members, researchers from other Canadian universities, and Canadian funding agency representatives.

The participating institutions have well-defined priority theme areas for 2020-21 each having excellent overlap, and will be discussed in the following five technical sessions:

Session 1: Nanotechnology & Society, Policy and Science Diplomacy (UN SDG #8, 10, 16, 17)
Session 2: Industry & Innovation (UN SDG #9, 11)
Session 3: Energy & Environment (UN SDG #7, 13)
Session 4: Devices & Technology for Healthcare (including COVID-19) and Communications/Photonics (UN SDG #3, 9, 11)
Session 5: Resource Management and the Circular Economy (UN SDG #6, 11, 12, 13, 17)

Following the workshop, roundtable discussions will be held to identify areas of common strength, synergy and vision to support joint project and collaboration, and to set the foundations for a Network4Sustainable Nanotechnology consortium spanning the four continents and beyond.

WIN is constantly striving to be an exemplar in cross-disciplinary research and breaking down barriers to bring together traditionally dissimilar research areas for a 360o view of critical research problems. This workshop will serve to define the technological challenges and societal impacts, and assemble well-balanced teams to tackle global challenges to lead to a just and sustainable society.
