 F SOUTHERN\nCALIFORNIA\n\nPerovskite Chalcogenides are a new class of semi
 conductors\, which have\ntunable band gap in the visible to infrared part 
 of the\nelectromagnetic spectrum. Besides this band gap tunability\, they 
 offer\na unique opportunity to realize large density of states semiconduct
 ors\nwith high carrier mobility. In this talk\, I will discuss some of the
 \nadvances made both in my research group and in the research community\ni
 n theory\, synthesis of these materials and understanding their\noptoelect
 ronic properties.\n
