Jamieson, known as one of Canada’s important visionaries and leaders, as she addresses “Education and Reconciliation, the Path to Canada’s Future”. Ms. Jamieson, a Canadian lawyer and First Nations activist, is president and CEO of Indspire, Canada’s premiere Indigenous-led charity. Roberta Jamieson was the first Aboriginal woman ever to earn a law degree in Canada, the first non-Parliamentarian to be appointed an ex officio member of a House of Commons Committee and the first woman appointed as Ontario Ombudsman.

Roberta Jamieson will explore the Original Dream for Canada developed by early settlers and Indigenous peoples, how the dream was distorted and diverted by educating generations of Canadians on false premises and facts, and how today's educational challenge is making the Truth known. Once that happens, how can Reconciliation become a reality? This is the challenge for our generation.

This special lecture is hosted in partnership with the ݮƵ Aboriginal Education Centre at St. Paul’s University College and UݮƵ’s Faculty of Arts. The evening features a traditional drumming performance by the Indigenous Student Association Drum Group. The keynote address and moderated discussion is hosted by Craig Norris, CBC Radio One 89.1 radio host, The Morning Edition & In The Key of C.

Wed, 17 May 2017 20:36:35 +0000 MSC Digital Co-op 63 at /innovation60 Vancouver Alumni Event - 60th Anniversary Reception and Quantum: The Exhibition Launch /innovation60/events/vancouver-alumni-event-60th-anniversary-reception-and Vancouver Alumni Event - 60th Anniversary Reception and Quantum: The Exhibition Launch Justine Louber… Mon, 12/12/2016 - 10:28

<img src="/innovation60/sites/default/files/uploads/images/web_banner_0-750x423_0.jpg" width="220" height="124" alt="Abstract orange-ish light on black background.
