Students won multiple awards at CORS 2025

We are thrilled to announce that three of our outstanding students have earned recognitions at three different student competitions during the CORS 2025 conference, held in Edmonton, AB. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing their continued success.

Esma Agkun at CORS 2025

Esma Agkun received the Honourable Mention (Second Place) at the Health Care Operational Research (HCOR) SIG 2025 Student Paper Competition, for her paper titled 鈥淥ptimizing Surveillance Protocols for Hospital-Acquired Infections: Case of MRSA鈥, co-supervised by Prof. Safa Erenay and Prof. Sibel Alumur Alev.

Mina Torabi at CORS 2025

Mina Torabi Milani was selected as the Runner-Up (Second Place) at the Transportation and Logistics SIG Gilbert Laporte Student Paper Award 2025, for her paper titled 鈥From Urban Centers to Rural Areas: The Trade-offs Between Efficiency and Fairness鈥 supervised by Prof. Hossein Abouee Mehrizi.

Larissa Troper at CORS 2025

Larissa Troper received the Honourable Mention (Second Place) at the CORS Student Paper Competition - Undergraduate Category, for her paper titled 鈥A Data-Driven Approach to Master Surgical Scheduling鈥, co-authored by her capstone project teammates, Aniq Premji, Matthew Chan, Adel Pazoki Toroudi, and Sunischit Thapa. This project was co-supervised by Prof. Hossein Abouee Mehrizi and Prof. Houra Mahmoudzadeh in collaboration with the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
