"ORchestrate", a team of fourth-year design students in the Health AI and Analytics Lab, won the First Prize at the Management Engineering Capstone Design Awards.

ORchestrate tackles Operating Room (OR) scheduling, and uses Mixed-Integer-Programming, heuristics, and simulation to optimize hospitals' block scheduling frameworks. Using Cambridge Memorial Hospital data and processes, they consider patient priorities and surgical types to minimize wait times. ORchestrate generates and evaluates master surgical schedules to better inform patient scheduling decisions. The project was supervised by professors Hossein Abouee Mehrizi and Houra Mahmoudzadeh.

Congratulations to the hard-working team members on their excellent work. Well done Matthew Chan, Adel Pazoki, Aniq Premji, Sunischit Thapa, Larissa Troper!
